    Touched up by someone after stans rebuild prior to this sale to lead chucker? Nothing wrong at all with Stans work! Too quality bloke and workmanship. Can't quite understand how its flaked.... Stan bondasealed one of my rods and it looks brilliant. No issues at all

      Lol Stan your shoddy workmanship...The rod I had which was built by you is the best build I have ever seen bar none. Lead chucker. R U sure it was baby wipes. Reason I ask is we use industrial wipes at rolls that would probably affect bondaseal I would imagine as it often aggrevates yr hands. If they are baby wipes please thro them away and don't use them on a babies arse lol.😆

        If it's been flaking and then cleaned with a baby wipe has is not went under the chiped varnish as that's what it looks like to me but ybh if john shown you it then it's not his fault as rod was bought as described

            Stan your work is beyond reproach as is johns reputation.im tending to think that somewhere between you building it and john buying it it's had a coat of something ??.Stan you know aswell as me bonda is a swine to get off once cured I've tried thinners,acetone etc etc and never really marked it yet alone make it go like that in the pic.

              Bondaseal dose not flake like that soon as it sets and hardens it goes solid !! Car lacquer tends to flake away like showing in the pic ! All the builders I know use bondaseal including stan !! for the simple fact is theres nother better or comes close to bondseal imo !!

                That rod was only bondasealed yesterday. I wasnt happy with the finish so ive just spent a good HOUR RUBBING WITH 1200 WET & DRY to try and remove it. This stuff defo does not come off with baby wipes lol.

                BTW Stans work is by a country mile the best I've ever had my hands on, chris dance & andy mewse could learn something from him.

                  Aye Keith,I've been talking to john at work about this post and a quick phone call and it would have been sorted out .they say your one of the new up & coming rod builders I would of washed it first then put a good layer of after sun on it just to be safe
                  Not having a pop at you lead chukka and don't mean no disrespect I just like trying to wind John up.all joking aside as many have said on here John is a good lad and would never purposely sell any crap to anyone.

                    Lads listen in, I've rubbed blank down and a yellow residue came off the blank I've also noticed two very tiny nicks in the blank which suggest the following;
                    A man has a used m427 blank he strips it down and coats it with what he thinks is a good lacquer he then takes the nice new shiney blank to an expert rod builder who fits new k-wags, the rod looks mint. The man then sells the blank to our John who then sells it to me. I use the rod in some extreme rainy weather, the next day the lacquer peels off, I'm angry at spending £230 on the rod so post negative feedback about rod.Then all hell breaks loose with different people giving there 2 penny worth etc. (hence why on reflection I asked the thread to be removed).
                    I have bought the rod in good faith knowing I don't have any come back as its second hand, although I and anyone else would be ****ed off when lacquer peeled, that's the problem with buying second hand.
                    Stan your the best rod builder and a really top bloke in my and everyone elses opinion. I now have grown to like the matt look of the blank and will keep it looking that way. Although I have bought some bondaseal with the intention of applying it to the rod, but I'll just give it to Stan as I don't think I could do any rod a favour if I applied it myself I'll leave that to the experts.
                    John can we put this thread to bed now.
                    As for baby wipes I only use Johnstones on my little boy, the wipes I used to clean my rods are Huggies lol

                      its ok posting negative feedback about a rod but how do you think i feel like now after you mention me.
