    Another backing here for John.
Appreciate must be frustrating as hell but I'd just speak to him and go from there.

I don't think its fair to come straight on the forum and moan without at least speaking to him first.
Ill second that Johns a top bloke and before moaning on here you should have spoken to the lad first.

Well that's easy for you to say your not down £230, never mind all I have said is what happened. Anybody recommend a product to seal it up.

hi kieth it was the 427 su i bought off you brilliant rod and build not this standard 427

and would buy any rod off you mate.

                  the 427 i sold for 230 i paid 270 for it

the su i paid 290 and sold it for 280 as was mint and same condition when i sold it.

i got the 427 off ebay and was told it wasnt a rebuild but i am gullable.i get bored wth same gear so i swap and change plus i dont gain in selling

40 quid loss on 427 over a few months and buyer was shown rod in daylight just ,i told buyer it wasnt mint hence selling for 230 not like the su at 280 .

what more can a person do but let the buyer have a good view of the rod.

i actualy got a text off big phil saying his m8 was over the moon with the rod and i still have that text. i used the rod half a dozen times myself and rod was in exactly same condition as when i bought it to when i sold it.

and people keep saying to me why are you on about packing in load of crap.

just cannot be bothered wth this ****.

John I like the rod, but as I've said the sealant has blown after one session, but I and surely you must think this is very strange. I cleaned the rod down with baby wipes as I always doo and put it back in car. Next day phil came to pick his gear up and we noticed it had blown its sealant. It was a wet night on Friday. Anyway I've had some advice from lads on how and what to repair it with. John its just life but I wouldn't buy from that bloke again.

I can only speak as i find , john robson is very honest decent fella i,ive had a lot of dealings with him over last 13 years and never once was his gear anything but perfect ,unless stated so the john i know would be mortified to have this happen to a rod he,d sold he wouldnt knowingly sell anything iffy im baffled by this ,this felt i had to say something as i find johns character impeachable

Incidently leadchucker ive stripped a lot of blanks over the years and struggle to remove the last remnants of highbuild residue off rods n used to take days scraping with fingernail and i found out accidently by rubbing with a dettol wipe that i could remove residue in 30seconds what previously took me hours i wonder if there is something similar in babywipes which has caused this in a non standard rod finish as i would assume baby wipes would be fine on factory finish ,id hope they would anyway

Had a few through my hands that looked like that turned out to have been sprayed with car lacquer then when you rub your nail up it the just flakes off

realy i am annoyed at this as a phone call to me realy could of been done.

now the rod has been buildt by stan parkin a hell of a rod builder like many we have up here and i dont want stan to come on this thread as no way on this planet is his work faulty.

i have said rod when sold it was in same condition as when i bought it ,i bought it off ebay and when i got it i did notice some flaking of varnish or whatever you call it and i did show and mention it to buyer when he bought it.

so realy what is been said is i am a cheat liar as i must of revarnished rod or summit after varnish has been coming off over 6 or 7 times i have used it, realy thats what is realy been said.

why ask for thread to be closed dont understand that at all .

may i ask how do i try to revarnish over a rod wth flaking varnish because i just have not got a clue.
did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

Oh well thats me sacked if it is my fault! I had to ask my son which rod it was as I.ve done that many but can honestly say I do.nt no if I done anything with the blank as I.ve never had any problems with the bondaseal b4 I would have to see the rod in question to see if anything had been done with it as it seems to have changed a few hands since I built it I guarantee my work to a certain degree if it is my fault I would rectify it free of charge as I do.nt want anybody falling out over my shoddy workmanship looks like thats my rodbuilding down the pan from now better don the building and hanyman gear again
