As the title, a proper pressure lantern, as previously used by the British Army.
Chucks out 60watts of light and 1400 watts of heat so ideal for night fishing over the winter months.
This one has had a new vapouriser tube fitted last year and has been fully serviced this March, with all the washers and seals replaced as well as the highly dangerous asbestos wick/pre-heater replaced with a glass fibre one.
included in the sale are the lamp,a small plastic funnel for filling, two spare mantles,a valvespout meths bottle with locking valve, and a two piece shade, which nests for transport or storage.
These lamps are far superior to the Tilley lamp ( unless you have a really old but well looked after Tilley, but even then the Vapalux is the better lamp) and a hell of a lot safer than any petrol lantern ( I've seen a couple of petrol lamps go "whoosh" over the years)
The lamp runs without pulsing, with a steady white light and excellent heat output.
Very simple to light and maintain, following some basic instructions and you can, if needs be get plenty of spares for them.
I'm asking £70 for the package above
(Looking to buy a Penn surfblaster 8000 you see)
I'm well aware that you can buy these lamps for as little as £35 off ebay but this lamp is in first class running order, clean, not tarted up and the chances are;
If you bought a cheap one off ebay- you'll have to spend another £16 on a vapouriser, £5 or so for a non asbestos wick, £15-£20 for a two piece shade, £8-£10 on a couple of mantles, £12 on a meths can and then service the thing, replacing the washers and seals, which requires the use of at least one special tool-cost about £12
The other thing is; you can actually see the lamp running before you buy
Collection only from Rowlands Gill, Tyne & Wear.
pm me if interested.
