hi fishfinder, casting comps is another good way to learn, it is the hard way but everyone is nervous , most lads are very helpful because everyone has to start somewhere, another blackpool comp is on soon apparently i have heard good set of lads and friendly atmosphere. i used to go to casting comps years ago you learn quite a bit plus the socialising is good you see lots of different gear johndid you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

With the help of keegy managed to get a local casting instructor and good advice..cheers again mate ..absolutely fantastic easily added an extra 50 yards to my cast and very addictive !!! the further you start getting the more you want to improve now all I need is to practice ..will definitely come up north some time possibly November ...to those who think a new rod will make you cast miles it makes more sense to go and spend a bit of time and money on casting instruction learning technique and the correct way to cast before going out and spending nearly 400 quid on a fancy rod and not being able to use the damn thing

have to agree there mate the lads at scottish surfcating assoc have helped me no end
since i started with them earlier this year and some individual work with pugalas pete have added around 100yds to my casting and they say i\'m still not hitting it hard enough yet.
have only bought new gear on sound advice from the guys
these guys are worth their weight in cod especially purgalas pete
watching PT send one into oblivion is some sight as too are billy russell, ian graham, purgalas pete and paul johnston
both my kids are improving slowly too
we missed the last event but look forward to Nov 20th
had kyle (9) practicing while away on hols and was getting around 60 yds almost 20+ than his current PB
paul johnston in full compression
billy in set up mode
and purgalas pete sending one into the blue yonder
