  • RT Axellerator and Excellsor

I was hoping someone could give some feedback on the RT Excellsor in comparison to the Axellerator.

Currently I have been able to achieve in excess of 200 + meters with the Axcellerator and would like to understand how the excellsor compares.

thanks in advance for any feedback.

    Regards
    JPS

Thanks for that Allan , if no replys here I will also post on the shore fishing one.

I am however after some opinions relative to distance casting where the ranges have been verified.

We will be having a Comp down here in Australia on the 24th and I will post the results for those interested.

      Regards

Good on yer mate , post the results on here and can you let us know what kind of rods/reels you guys are using down under, will you be casting to our type of format ie :-
              175gram .75mm shockleader .35mm mainline
              150gram .75mm shockleader .31mm mainline
              125gram .65mm shockleader .28mm mainline
              100gram .65mm shockleader .28mm mainline
I have cast the RT axellerator twice and done over 240yds with it , I think that it is good for over 250 with the right person behind it .

                Pete ,

I agree that the RT Axellerator is capable of 250 + distances with the right person behind it.
Two others in our group of casters have one including myself , however I was wanting to get more details on the Excellsor as the advertising blurb rates it as a distance casting rod and the Axcellerator as a rough ground rod.

We cast with the same basic format as the UKSF rules but are not as rigid for people who want to join in just to improve their fishing distances.

                Regards
                Jeremy

the excellsor is not a patch on the AXELLERATOR as its more soft bait casting rod will put a soft bait a good way in one piece
but for casting m/c the AXELLERATOR IS THE WAY TO GO. of the two
it takes some beatting at the price
what other gear can you get down under???

Axcellerator has only just come on the scene down here and cost is around $350 Australian to $400 depending on who is selling it. this would equate to about 160 pounds which is about the same price as geting one from the UK with freight. If you get anything from OS it generally gets hit with additional import duty and sales tax which make it very expensive to import.

Rods that I currently use are as follows.

                      1. Composit developments XD1 = good rod for 100 to 125 gram and capable of 230+ meters with the right caster.

                      2. Composit Developments XD2 = Proto type rod capable of handling 175 gram + distance possible = 240+

                      3. RT Axcellerator , have achieved 218.8 meters personally.

                      3. Kilwell Pendulum 1 = 200+ meter rod achieved

                      4. Kilwell Pendulum 2 or 222 = Good 100 gram rod , Butt section to soft for the heavy weights.

                      5. Purglass 400/3 = 200+achieved

                      6. Purglass 400/0 = Good 75 to 100 gram rod

                      7. Silstar Travers X 12 foot = 180+ meters rod

I also have a number of Australian Blanks in one piece that I have made up with one frpm Pacific Composit which has Kevlar/Graphite mix in it and this is also capable of 200+.

Distance casting Reels consist of modified ABU 5500/6500 CT\'s with Mag conversions by Leigh Robbinson from Australia ,l Penn 525 Knobby and Slidy as well as Diawa Slosh 20 etc.

Most other casters have Zziplex, Century and Conflex rods imported at considerable cost from the UK.

I will get a full list and hopefully some photos from bext weeks comp.

                      Regards
                      Jeremy
