casting at kirk
i was at kirkleathem sunday 21/3 /2010 and was made very welcome by Bob collings & company (thankyou Bob) this was the first time in 25 30 years that ive attendid a casting tornement im more into fishing off my own boat now and havent been beach casting or rock fishing until this last winter and then its was off the rocks at whitby so i was rusty very rusty anyway Bob fixed me up with a reel full of line and gave me a lead as mine where all gemini grip leads id brought i was going to take the grip part off so now fixed up im ready to have a chuck upto the oche and away it went nowt brill as no way was i going to the first to crackoff think this cast went 170 or so yards the first marker is 175 yards so well short um must do better then my turn again this went Out Of Court ho doggy do do i sat and watched the big hitters hells bells can these lads cast then again my turn this one i hit a bit harder yep same thing but 6ins to the left O O C but a cast of about 180 yards + i asked Bob for advice as to why i was going left longer drop OK so this next cast less power and away it went well chuffed 173.18ins so that my PB so now on thursday im going to see if i can better that i know i can with my own gear dident like to keep asking Bob for a reel full of line should i crack off so now im sorted line on order from Bob ive just been out and bought some line to use on thursday night and a few lads from the whitby forum are coming down lets hope thay join the club ive just dug out my old D C A Mold so now im making leads the tackle used was a old daiwa A W B rod and a mag elite that have not been used for the last 4 years and the new line i put was the wrong dia 0.35 instead of 0.31 so bring on thursday then over to driffield tightlines Alain
