anybody know where I can get some conicle springs, I've got some ultra mag reels to convert.

Cone springs

Hello,
I spent some time trying to find suitable springs when I converted my ultra mags and mag 2's and 3's.

I tried the cone springs from sewing machine bobbins but they were a bit too strong for what I wanted.

In my reels I now use springs from the following;
Bicycle wheel quick release spindles, you'll get 2 per spindle and they fit over the ultra mag 1/4 " thread with little modification.
Or; 6 volt lantern batteries have suitable springs on the top as terminals.

I have some springs from the batteries if you get stuck, just let me know and I'll post a couple to you.
