Originally posted by john/r View Postwell i was,nt aware it was casting practise that was the cause of lead flying into housing estate but niether must the top caster who made the point to will, i had previously discussed venues in the past on other forums about casting fields but with no luck.you no i have talked to you on phone about this and now with more people coming to events and some big casters and with now poss the 100grm lead going further than the 125 possibly, regarding myself not going to events i have tried my best to help ie taking steve to clubmans ,lending gear, posting results on websites , starting threads on nesa site to get things going which i did, maybe will can put on open forum saying about being my m8 and what i have done for casting up here and yes bazz you have helped me a liitle over the months but i hav also done same for you,
All NESA members are responsible people, if any caster thinks he can over run these rules/safety precautions, he will be asked to stop casting. Kirkleatham show field is a public field and NESA, being in the past or now ,cannot police any practice sessions at kirkleatham, but the guys who use it on Thursday evenings, practice, tuition etc are NESA members and are very safety minded guys.
I spoke to Peter Thain (the top caster) last year and he advised me not to use Kirkleatham show field as the venue, his opinion and advice was very helpfull and was taken on board ,so many SAFETY countermeasures are now in place.
Yes John ,you did kick my ass to get get NESA up and running, for which I,m gratefull, we have a good club now which has attracted some highly respected names in the game , and it,ll continueLast edited by will powell; 29-02-2008, 02:52 AM.North East Surfcasting Association
