its come to my attention that people have been dissing the field at kirkleathem on other forums saying its not big eneough and that its smaller than it used to be absolute rubbish all they have done is left the perimiter uncut, let me assure you the field at kirkleathem is plenty big eneough. the only way we cannot cast on this field is a southerly direction and if the conditions are forecast for this direction then we cast with a side wind across the court people should get their facts right before spouting off and condemming a cracking field. its taken a while to get nesa up and running again and we dont need scaremongering from people that dont even attend or cast there.

well said baz, kirkleathen is the best venue i,ve ever seen. for anyone to think will and the lads would ever compromise the safety of anybody during the casting events is utter and total rubbish. any adverse comments should be ignored, and put down to pettiness.

Well said Bazz, I travelled from Anglesey to cast at Kirkletham and what else can I say apart from its a cracking venue......I mean what else can a caster ask for..??
If they want to climb over hedges, jump over ditches, cast down steep hill's and then roughly estimate their distance, then I am sure there is a suitable venue somewhere.....
Otherwise,
they could come and have a cast at NESA where there are no hedges, no ditches and no hills and most of all a BIG level field.......

I've only cast at 2 venues that have ditches or hedges and both involved leaving the mainland, one of them was in the south of France!!
Got another skiing trip in less than 4 weeks, so hopefully nothing broken and time permitting I'll make my way up to have a cast with you chaps.NESA = No Exaggerated Sillyness Allowed

hi prob with kirkleathem ie redcar is the field it is too small years ago at casting comp a crack off landed on roof in housing estate it can give casting a bad name throughout the country ie insurance costs and field is smaller now than now just not big enough
it wasnt a casting comp either it was lads practicing.
it doesent matter how strong the wind is or how much pressure there is the court will not be set out or changed to cast in this direction southerly everybody is aware of the dangers of casting in this direction so it will never happenLast edited by BAZZ B; 28-02-2008, 09:19 PM.

well i was,nt aware it was casting practise that was the cause of lead flying into housing estate but niether must the top caster who made the point to will, i had previously discussed venues in the past on other forums about casting fields but with no luck.you no i have talked to you on phone about this and now with more people coming to events and some big casters and with now poss the 100grm lead going further than the 125 possibly, regarding myself not going to events i have tried my best to help ie taking steve to clubmans ,lending gear, posting results on websites , starting threads on nesa site to get things going which i did, maybe will can put on open forum saying about being my m8 and what i have done for casting up here and yes bazz you have helped me a liitle over the months but i hav also done same for you,did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?
