      fao inford

lookin at this post , amazed to see my name mentioned at davidstowe, only went there once and boy was it a long drive, me and ade was knackered , and jesus theres some WEIRD people livin in cornwall.
anyway as for davidstowe wot a weird place to cast, lumps and bumps onthe oche, anybody with a step in there cast was knackered,i had a step in my cast ,i cast crap but still did 294 i think. never seen a reel empty so fast, the line went 50yds past lead then back to it. think if the oche had been flat then who knows,i honestly felt 320+ was possible. on the day me and andy green had 294 and barry painter had 306 outstanding, well done barry, but his cast had no step and he used to cast very high.

        Martin,

It's old timers like yourself who where there back in old days, who can help us young'uns out with the historical past.

There is no substitute for a real life living witness.

I to have cast at Davidstowe and found it to be mental torture - a good oche is paramount for long distances.

hi inford, were you at davidstowe that day mate. no mate . i was just surprised that you would know wot distance i got that day as me and andy green were well peeved when the painter did that "jammy" cast.
i only really cast for a year or two before the interest started to go for me, so surprised anybody remembers little old me.
ps if peter thain had been at davidstowe that day he would have done well.
as i remember there was a slight breeze off the sea?????? about an 80mph breeze ha ha
