I think the 125g record was done in a cross wind, I know I did my last 290+ in a cross wind but I can't remember if it set a new record?

If I'm going to do it now, it will have to be in Iceland.

Casting on a snow court! May be easier to find the crack offs!

westward is just off the a30 no mountains down here

davidstowe most of the 300+ casts were done casting up a incline from the same place mr watson got his pb i believe 290 somthing

davidstowe is near the highest point in cornwall and very open which ive heard there going to build a wind farm there

but like anywhere you need to be casting well enough to take advantage of the conditions

or be in the right place at the right time

The new field being used by the SSA has real potential for a 300 yarder, very similar to Cowbridge, Wales; top of a hill, clear behind and a fairly steep drop. Only trouble is to get the most from it you need a northerly and we don't see many of them, prevailing wind is normaly a SW. The casting day we had there last week opened my eyes a bit, very little wind (but it was a northerly) and every chuck was going high 60's or low 70's, did the wind pick up as promissed; did it f**k!

would these" top of a hill" venues be advantageous because of altitude .nwsa and nesa venues are less than 5m above sea level and both have long court records
