first casting event

i went along to my first casting event on sunday. north west surfcasters. rain and wind from every direction made it hard for organisers and casters. they struggled on though.

before going, i'd seen videos and statistics of casting. but to see in person just how far these guys were chukking was a revelation. i gained much fascinating information. some of it was even about casting, and virtually none of it repeatable in public.......! some of the lads gave me very helpful advice and encouragement, for which grateful thanks.

all i can say is, if you've never been, go along to one of these meetings, and have a look. you might even be braver than me, and have a go.

You probably came along to an event with the worst possible conditions I have ever cast in. Even so everybody still tried and had a good day!
You should have picked a rod up yourself! Don't be intimidated by it all, we all start somewhere, and every man there will do there best to help you get further, we like top see everybody doing well! (maybee until you start beating us!).

you should have had a couple of chucks mate. my 1st event was a NWSA casting day, and i had a gr8 day....
great bunch of guys down there, and hopefully, all going well i will be back down next year looking forward to it already.......
