Yes it was with the new rod and for the first time this year I actually had a couple of sessions before the comp.

After I had cast, I actually thought it was going to be around the same distance as the rest so John Walker and myself swapped rods before reeling in, with the intention of winding Len up. We had a few people going for a while but when John walked passed the 30 line then the 40 line and of course when everybody saw him cross the 50 line they soon realised something was wrong and of course when John looked at me and grinned I think everybody realised what had been done..
I just hope I can do it again so I can reel it in next time..

Top pranking you chaps, wish i could have seen Lens face! Had a few sessions also, just getting to grips with putting a step in, this is definitely the way forward! Great news about the fields at sand villas, Cheers Len if your reading any of this! Will see you in October Pete to play catchup!

Check out the NWSA casting rules. Rule 14a, states that for a cast to be allowed and measured, the caster must retrieve (reel in) the line to the lead. On that basis, because Johnny Walker reeled in your line, the cast doesn't count. Shamed that made your PB null and void.
