The forecast of showers put a few people off coming but a brief shower was all we had. The wind was Westerly 5 to 8mph and increasing to around 10mph with the odd gust to 18mph in the afternoon. Conditions were good and with some breaks in the cloud it was sun and blue skies.
It was a day to remember for some. Peter Ingham increased the record for the 18grm multiplier to a massive 133-2-1 yds. While Jim Foy increased his own OTG record for the 75grm to 197-2-8.
Newcomer David Wright, in his first competition, managed a respectable 168 yds while another newcomer, Peter Roberts, was increasing his PB all day long and ended with a superb cast of 234yds.Once again the casters increased their PB’s. Alan Varley won the event with a massive cast of 271 yds while Ray Browell, Ian Miles, Josh Evans, John Brimblecombe all increased their best casts. Steve Little increased his PB and also showed us all how to do it in the accuracy with getting the centre line dead on!! A great day with a lots excitement.
