With a lot of the country under the threat of rain, our casting field was not an exception. The day started dry with no wind and the court was set out to cope with the Easterly forecast. After three rounds the rain came and there was no let up until we had finished.
Distances crept up a little when the rain came as this brought a five mph wind down the court most of the day.
Despite these wet conditions the casters stuck at it, spool slip was a problem for some and the reels were trying to be kept dry under towels, plastic bags and shower caps! Although distances were down for most, some were rewarded with PB’s.
A great effort from junior Kyle Powell produced a cast of 58 yds .While John Brimblecombe, Chris Hughes and Keith Naylor all exceeded their previous best casts.
