NWSA Results Sunday 5.3.06
The first event of the season approached with snow : over a lot of the country, with one inch of it landing on the casting field the day before the event. This left competitors wondering if it was to go ahead. Sunday arrived and the field was clear, leaving us to face a sunny day, but with a very cold North West wind, 15 mph, swinging to the West and blowing across the court most of the day.
Plenty of new faces this year, along with some old ones as well, which is encouraging. This kept the instructors busy in between casts.
Newcomer Keith Naylor managed to get the centre line at just five inches, whilst Will Powell upped his PB to 234 yds, a sign of things to come for him this year. Newcomer Josh Evans moved his PB from 175 yds in the morning to 224 yds on his last cast of the day. A great cast, there is more to come from him I am sure. Pete Ingham tried out the lighter weights and managed a PB of 115yds on the 18 grm with multiplier.
Medals are now being awarded for the first three places in three of the groups at each event this year, this has made the day more competitive with some of the places hotly contested!
Well done everybody..
