Bri, I think Davy picked shearer out because Johnny who branded Keane a thug is a toon supporter. If a Man City fan had called him a thug, I\'m guessing Mr Thatcher (no not maggies hubby) would have been mentioned.

        Cheers, Keith.

ok the mans now branded as a hero, because he is associated with safc (pardon my french)

even though he set out to hurt Alfie Inge Haaland in the Manchester United / Manchester City derby game of two years ago.h

Well, he\'s also a national disgrace, I think he\'s let the entire country down.

            biography:
If i new i was going to get sent off for pushing shearer i would of punched him (yeah definatly a sportsman)
            the list goes on...

when has shearer behaved in that mannor?

the answer is: never, and thats not from the point of a bias toon fan either !

i hope he does well and gets safc promoted . i really miss the derbys!
i also hope that IF he does win promotion he can establish safc as a bottom 4 side :P

Got to admit I never liked him as a person. Hell of a player though. He might not have the experience as a manager but who does when they start out. I say give the bloke a chance to prove what he can do

                    Yes he\'s a hero...as a manager jonny.

I think he\'s let the entire country down.
                    How?

He would have had to join the queue, thousands of mackems in front of him!

The quote from the book is a cracking reason as to why sunderland fans are calling him a hero

Jonny, better judges of football than you and me have called him THE best midfielder this country has ever seen. Yes he overstepped the mark a few times (as he admitted in his press conference), but are you telling me if NUFC had theoretically bought him in his prime, you\'d still be of the same opinion?

                    I think not.

think there would be more mags infront off shearer if that was the case lol ,

i honestly think keane wont be your manager in 18 months time for a few reasons
1 he will fall out with quinn [ again ]
2 he will have most of the players falling out with him
3 he will expect free flowing attractive football [ cmon its sunderland ffs ]
4 hes 2 bloody arrogant and big headed

the best bet of the season has to be the 6/4 he will be sent to the stands by a referee and be banned by the football league

good luck to sunderland but in all truth i cant see you lot doing anything this yr probally finish 10th and before you shout at me i think we will be lucky to finish in the top ten of the PREMIER LEAGUE

                            and another thing
shearer was found NOT TO BE GUILTY on the challenge on neil lennon and it was accidental :P :P :P

i see you asked the question jonny about mary poppins \"who did he score his last goal against?\" well he didnt score his last goal at SOL, i think youll find he scored it from the penalty spot against celtic in his testimonial!!
