  • Bird Flu

Oh my god, bird flu has been found in Scotland, not surprised we are now looking for it, every dead swan, duck, goose, bird will be reported and no doubt cases of bird flu will be found. Hopefully not many. I wonder if over the years if all the dead swans, ducks etc where reported and tested whether we would have found a few cases as well.

Two points - firstly I\'m off to bed at 9.15 ..... full of cold (just a coincidence I hope) and secondly I\'ve never been into a McDonalds or KFC or any others in my life.

        Good, cough, night.

          Lol David,
          I\'m the same, m8.....

sat here with streaming eyes, can\'t stop sneezing and me ribs are aching with coughing so much.

BTW.......there\'s no truth in the rumour that I\'ve been up to Fife (me sister lives up there) and infected any swans.....lol

its been on the radio all day up here.
had to have a laugh at a soundbite they kept playing from this complete knob.he was complaining that the bird had been dead in the harbour for over a week but the authorities done nothing about it.
when asked if he had informed anyone he said \"no\" what a f*****g tool. ps the gulls had a good go at it all week so they might have it now as well (dont know if it can be spread that way).

From the bit I heard on BBC Look North they were saying it transfers through contact betwen animals and also through it\'s excrement.
Sounds like those gulls will be well infected then.

If they\'ve got young, they\'ll probably pass it on to them, which will end up getting scavenged by others.....and so the cycle grows.

It\'s strange though as the interviewer was talking to one of the swan wardens at Berwick and it appears that waterfoul are particularly susceptable to it.
As my dad used to say....Man who go to bed with itchy bum......wake up with stinky finger!!!
