1 this post has let some people blow of steam but as usual some folks take it to far Thatcher was divisive she turned friend and family against each other made people think in a me me way. If you act in this way are you not a child of Thatcher.


2 A lot of posts have been put on by people too young to have lived under Thatcher your view is valid but only up to a point on this subject consider that a lot of the information you have been fed is bi est. Not many unemployed miners, ship builders, steel workers etc publish news papers.


3 My story is I worked as a printer and was made redundant twice under Thatcher. I only ever went on strike once and never went back I moved to the US and was well paid. In the US i worked just as hard as I did in the UK and only came back home when tec changed the printing industry.

Didn't want to get involved but do you think Labour has done better? I don't Mr union man called a striker with out a vote like he normally did to cause black outs and as it turned out coal was cheaper to buy abroad so his strike was a waste of time the coal board was looking millions upon millions did Labour 're open them?no as it cost to much and they were no longer efficient call her for closing the pits but she went to war there was no were near the amount of asylum seekers like there is now so people blame her for the pits and ship yards but if it was her to blame for them closing the next government would of 're opened them but they never. And she turned British steel around previous to closing the pits.yes she might of done some wrong but who is perfect?this country needs someone like this to kick the country in shape as we have become soft and our industries have failed as for some reason British people expect a certain standard of living but can't be bothered to earn it. My view is stop benefits for people who have been unemployed for more than a year then stop giving people more money for the amount of kids they have.... rant over

what would you do if you fell on hard times lost your job ,or ill health where your not fit for work , ok if you have lots of money to live of like most torries have , but what about the disabled , the mentally ill people in society, the child poverty which is being created now under cameron and is right wing army , do you want to see them living rough begging ,soup kitchens etc , kids going with nothing cameron and is cronies dont mind as long as they and there capitalist mates are coining it in , the mentally ill have been hit badly of this government ,they are un caring un compassionate , and to be honest i dont know how they casn sleep at night, hit the poorest and the most needy in society to make the rich richer it stinks just my opinion

There is valid people who can't work but times are hard for everyone I don't agree with taxing people with money if they have worked hard for it why should I pay more tax to subsidise other people when I work hard for.my money and as for school leavers if you can't find a trade or job join the army bring in national service.hard times hit us all and robbing from the rich to give to the poor sounds great but people who abuse our benefit system will benefit and I hate it. And everyone can find hard times but a year of dole is plenty of time to find a job in my opinion I don't think it's hard for kids to be honest if there is no jobs stay in education uni it's the older person the people who can't stay in education that's who I feel sorry for or tradesmen who are propped time served not go on a course for a week and now your a plumber sparky joiner

phill you know my lad , and he as been trying to get a paying job for over a year now , he got 4 weeks work of the post office as did a lot of lads at is age 17 so they could pay them 3 quid a hour minimum wage rates after christmas post rush it was bye bye , now still looking for work , there is nowt there no apprenticeships nowt at all,

It's now turning into a forum where people are bickering on on a subject that has no link to fishing. Name calling chests puffing. Come on lads. Let fish and get bad to normal. And a lot of blame should be apportioned to the last lot who allowed 5 million immigrants into the country,taking away the jobs our kids should have been doing as well as adding to the strain on the NHS, Education and housing!
They had 13 years to change things for the 'Better' and did nowt!
