so there is now 2 torries up here , and dont relate my mother to thatcher
I have never mentioned politics or your mother,i dont mind what you say about the living but i do think you cross a line after someone has died,a bit cowardly i would say.

cowardly no way , if i had my own way i would of had a state funeral for her while she was alive
Time for me to leave this thread before I get upset!
Don't get too personal guys please. The camaraderie on here is what sets us apart and above other sites.
Long may that continue
agreed mate.
don't understand why some people can't agree to dissagree, lets not get personal, as i stated in a previous post, lets not get into the personal insult thing, over the years i have seen certain message boards destroyed by similar.
we are all anglers from all walks of life and differing backgrounds.
absolutely no need for comments like that to a fellow nesa member. we at nesa are a community which i like to think can have differing oppinions without personal nastiness. some of the comments on mrs thatchers death are going well ott no matter what you thought of her policies, some people should hang their heads in shame at what has been posted.
i'll say again, although im a tory through and through there were some aspects of her leadership i strongly dissagreed with. but i admire someone who has unfaltering faith in there beliefs even if on some issues they are wrong.
RIP maggie.
Agreed Micky, no need for personal insults between forum members but I am certainly not surprised at the comments showing their revulsion for Thatcher, even if a few are a bit ott.
As for her funeral and the tributes, I will be completely ignoring them. I find the idea that some people are organizing parties a bit inappropriate and to be honest it creeps me out a bit. I've got to admit though, if she'd croaked 28 years ago I would definitely have joined the conga!
People are always going to disagree on politics, especially with such a controversial figure and I certainly disagree with your admiration for her especially as you are a working man who must have witnessed the misery her policies wreaked on this area.

I'm enjoying all the haters immensely. the miners strike - scargill was as bad as she was and did as much damage to the mining industry, and lined his own pockets massively before during and after.
Mandele was a terrorist. Does everyone now think that Gerry Adams wasn't a terrorist? How else can you describe a man that leads and directs the armed wing of the ANC, murder people and bomb primary schools? It was he and his lovely wife Winnie that came up with the rather jolly idea of tying someone up and putting a tyre filled with petrol around their necks and lighting it. Short memories folks have when it suits them
she was a politician pure and simple - they are all the same, some are worse than others. Least she had balls and didn't give a toss what people thought about her. On the plus side she was instrumental in ending the cold war, ended the strangle hold of the unions which had killed the british economy in the 70's, and turned the country's finances around. Sadly she gave birth to tony blair, who finished the job off for her where industry and manufacturing are concerned and went on to to erode civil liberties more than anyone before or since.
She's dead so what, get over it. If the Haters had aimed just a small amount of the energy and vitriol they are now spewing at the blair/brown/mandellson holy trinity this country might not be the **** heap it is now

Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Did she drop a monumental bollock by ignoring all the warnings given regarding attack on the Falkland Islands? Some say it was a personal strategy but I reckon more like incompetance.

A wonderful deflection from the real issue that most people in this area have with Thatcher and that was the misery and unemployment that her policies caused to working people.
The country's finances! wtf does the country's finances matter to a redundant man whose job could have been saved by better government.
Thatcher and her policies took no account of the people that would be stuffed by them.
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. I see Mandela as the latter.
