Without principles and belief in ourself we are nothing. Dont get me wrong here, yes i am a tory but dissagreed with some of her policies but admire her strength of belief in what she was doing. The compromise politics we have seen over recent times have hurt this country a hell of a lot more.
Principles? You can't be talking about the same c**t who used to have
Pinochet round for tea, supported the Khmer Rouge, was against the ending
of apartheid, said Nelson Mandela was a terrorist, and sent a task force to
the Falkland Islands, because it was politically expedient to do so.
She'll take over downstairs, she's tortured more souls than Old Nick.

I am not implying we are not a democracy, I state it as a fact. We are the only industrialised country in Europe that does not employ some form of PR. You cannot govern a country when the majority of the voters voted against you, whether Tory or Labour and remember I am Scottish and have never voted for either of those parties.

Your funniest/saddest comment tonight has been that Thatcher had integrity. Your 2nd funnest/saddest is that in "hindsight" some of her policies were wrong.
Whose hindsight? The majority of us knew at the time they were wrong and based on a dogma to break the unions and blackmail the "working class" with give-aways such as cheap council houses and cheap shares in state run companies.

Selling the countries prized assets to fund the then financial profligacy was neither smart nor bore any hallmarks of integrity. Unless of course you somehow class blackmail as being an honest, ethical practice!

        Perhaps you do?

This is from the film director Ken Loach.

Margaret Thatcher was the most divisive and destructive Prime Minister of modern times.

Mass Unemployment, factory closures, communities destroyed – this is her legacy. She was a fighter and her enemy was the British working class. Her victories were aided by the politically corrupt leaders of the Labour Party and of many Trades Unions. It is because of policies begun by her that we are in this mess today.

Other prime ministers have followed her path, notably Tony Blair. She was the organ grinder, he was the monkey.

Remember she called Mandela a terrorist and took tea with the torturer and murderer Pinochet.

How should we honour her? Let’s privatise her funeral. Put it out to competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid. It’s what she would have wanted

Horrible old c**t, but we gonna have a street party to mark her death, soon as the sun comes that is.
If its got t1ts or tyres, its gonna be trouble.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem
