I think, once you get to such levels of skill, there\'s no such thing as \"better\".......just \"different\", David.

Could ask the same of say, Clapton & Knopfler or Santana & Gary Moore..........I don\'t think any are necessarily \"better\" than the other..........just \"different\".

excellent point Tony, they are all good in there own right,I remember when I was younger we used to say \"who\'s the best guitarist in the world\"
      Yngwie Malmsteen or Gary Moore........................................
      blah blah blah
it went on for a while btw lol
I\'ve seen alot of good guitarists and they are all different and theres not one Artist/group the same anyway

        Good point Stores

Can\'t say I\'ve ever been into Pink Floyd but then again haven\'t really listened in that much, probably because of my age I\'ve missed them a bit. Do have a few tapes of Chris Rea in the loft.

Currently buying a few of my old LPs and tapes on CD to replace them. Had a splurge on Stranglers, Squeeze and a few Anita Baker albums after getting a soulful bout following some Smiths and Stella :P

Don\'t know TC but he is quiet.

Been playing Stranglers in the car and got the urge to get a bass guitar like I was going to at 16. Don\'t think I\'ve got musical talent so bass should be OK. Step-daughter has the talent, recorders, flute, sax, clarinet, taught herself keyboard and last year or so got accoustic and electic guitar. keep hearing the odd twang of Chillies and Foo Fighters.

Have heard a bit of it on radio two and it sounds great. I had a copy of The Delicate Sound Of Thunder but it was in my car when it was stolen a few years ago and for some reason I never got around to replacing it. Will have to remedy that as I thought it was very good.

On a different tack I am currently waiting for a copy of For Your Pleasure arriving at my door (vinyl though). I thought it was one of Roxy Musics finest but my brother never returned it after he \"borrowed\" it. He now wonders why I tell him to get stuffed when he is after some piece of music that he knows I own

              Jim.

Listened to the concert on Radio 2 tonight.........excellent

Just watching it now on the radio 2 website

Some of the songs from the new album seem to need a little \"tweaking\" for a perfect live performance, but as THIS concert was just a warm-up to see what fitted and what didn\'t, I\'m sure the final concert repertoir will be very finely tuned.
There\'s an unusual version of \"Shine On You Crazy Diamond\" and it \'s nice to see the inclusion of \"Wearing The Inside Out\" from the \"Division Bell\" included in the set.......however, the solo was a bit disapointing - listening to the album version, the solo is the nearest thing you get to the \"Comfortably Numb\" end solo......on this live version, it\'s a bit weak.

Having said that, \"Comfortably Numb\" (perforned as the final song) is just as good as any live Floyd version.
