    Sea Kings

Like everything else it has to end sometime, surely the Sea Kings are passed their sell by date. The Kings are dead long live the Kings.

im not in a position to comment on the sell by date of the sea kings, but i am in a position to say

there is no better feeling than seeing them around, some times giving you a wave, some time asking if they can drop someone on your deck,or asking where the heck their marker bouy is,cos you didnt know what it was and picked it up AND CREWED BY THE BEST IN THE WORLD, no ifs no buts

        Sea Kings

Ex-RAF so wouldn't be knocking RAF or Navy crews.
We will have to hope that the search&rescue service thats been provider by both RAF & Navy is as good once in private hands.

Like Duncan, I cannot comment on the lifespan of the Sea Kings. However why oh why are we paying a private American company to provide search and rescue services for the next 10 years at a cost of 1.6 billion?

Why not provide the army/navy with replacement helicopters and continue with what was a very good and often heroic public service?

Private companies must make a profit, so if they can do it cheaper than our armed forces, surely the service must be getting reduced?

Is this what we want? I despair about this and previous governments who just want to save a few quid!!
