      dont know if it still stands but council had to do it them self to there spec

          It still stands. Only the local council are allowed to do dropped curbs. Our next door neighbour got his done privately and the council came and re-did the work. He ended up with a £600 bill on top of the money he paid out to the company who did it in the first place.
          As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
          but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

              Many thanks people, I have been informed that you are correct and the council have to do the work because of a highways certificate, this is why they charge so much.
