have you seen the adverts for flat for rent £90 a week or £360 a month then after that it says no dss (no dss) what the hell does that mean ? if i had a flat for rent and said no blacks or pakis id be taken to court right away are ppl on the dole the next jews and low lifes i think not my son who has worked since leaving school has lived in his flat for 4 years lost his job then his landlady says i want you out cos your unemployed now
i know she aint got a leg to stand on as ive talked with a few m8s who know this cack but its her attitude what stinks trying to make a lad who is a grafter homeless cos he is on the dss now

batt, i\'m not a 100% on this but as long as he keeps paying the rent and he contacts the dwp or housing deparments i am not sure which one they should be able to help with payments because he is not working also the council should be able to help.
i was a private tennent for years and sometimes struggled with my rent but i know landlords just cant chuck you out and they have to go through the right procedures etc. like i said try the above and get your son down to citizens advice they should give you some good advice.

    cheers

Landlords prefer working ppl who pay cash so they dont have to declare too much to the I.R.

Batt, Im a landlord and he cant be thrown out because he has lost his job as far as I am aware, I take your point re the black/pakistani point. In all honesty, I probably wouldnt rent my flat out to a family on benefits, with all due respect. but thats a personal thing, I kniw not all working families are good people either.

I dont think it will be long till your not allowed to say that in an ad.

          Heres one,
recently, twice on The Weakest Link, people have beebn voted off becase, and I quote,\" he\'s english\" both times by Scots.
Imagine the hoohaa, if they said, cos hes a paki!/black man.

you\'re spot on mate what the hell is happening to this country anyway. All the propaganda and hype being thrown about by this \" Labour\" government is destroying the whole fabric of our society (well the bit that was left after the last lot of Tory\'s destroyed it). If a lie is told and repeated often enough then people actually start to believe it is true.
First we had unmarried mothers who were the target of the witchunt the latest one now being disabled folk, who if you were to be taken in by the disgraceful sh1te of a recent BBC series are all on the fiddle. For Christ sake what\'s wrong with people now, the Wefare State was put in place to act as a safety net for the unfortunate, not so people could look down their noses at them.
I know there are people abusing the system, it\'s always happened and it always will but there are a lot genuine cases out there who deserve help and respect AND NOT to be treated as second class citizens just because they find themselves out of work through no fault of their own.
Hiram.A.Biff I\'m shocked and disappointed stating you probably wouldn\'t rent out your place to a family on benefits, you\'re tarring everyone with the same brush, and it\'s the wrong brush you\'re using.

I feel like a stranger in the land where I was born.

            Gripe over.

cheers lads for the advise the reason she wants him out is because she said she cant wait till the housing benifit comes through as there is a back log of twelve weeks his rent was £80 a week and he never missed a payment in the 4 years he was in the flat.... her reason was because he was now on dss i find this disgusting he told her he would be starting work in a few weeks time and she said ohh well we will look at this again but he said no thanks i\'ll leave this week as he has found a new flat where they said there is no problem with him being on the old king cole her loss as he was a good tenant never no trouble and she has the gaul to say she thinks he\'s a lovely lad but its business

I once had to sign on for about three weeks through no fault of my own a lot of years ago till a problem with a new job was sorted out. What a nightmare.

Got to say though, I do know one or two that have been signing on for years and can afford to spend a lot more time in a pub than I do and I work there.

It is always the same batt mate a few spoil it for the many and people tend to tar everyone with the same brush.

My answer to them would be, try it for a few weeks and see what it\'s like, NOT GOOD as far as I was concerned.

                    Jim.

I was on the dole about 18 years ago,I was living at my parents house then and to be honest you learn to adapt,I got out for a pint, went to the gym etc etc,had a great time,could\'nt wait to get a job for the extra cash btw but it was\'nt the end of the world.I know at least two people that have never worked since they left school, nearly 24 years or so ago and I bet they are better off than me,if you KNOW the system your laughing.
Theres a lad that lives near me who\'s never worked in his life,he\'s out most nights or lunch time, got a new car, lovely house and family and goes to Canada for his holidays every year
                      Cheers Alan...

Jim & Alan i agree its not nice on the dole wor kid has worked since leaving school only signed on two weeks ago and already he cant wait to get back to work when i was unemployed i actually took a job for less than i got on the dole we struggled but the feeling of getting your pay packet was a good feeling plus it was a job i really liked NHS so you can see the pay was really bad lol Jim your right m8 a few can make everybody look bad ive noticed lately a lot of snide remarks about ppl on the dole pll in council houses and so on (reminds me of the thatcher years when ppl bought their council houses and put a new door on straight away then stopped talking with their friends next door lmao sad very sad ) all i can say is if your in full time employment and you are happy at your job then you are very lucky indeed btw wor lad has just moved in with a gorgeous blonde lass so he\'s got a big smile on his face lucky git lol i was talking with a good m8 last night and he has never ever been unemployed he\'s in his 50\'s now and he told me he works hard all year and it pays the bills and he works for his one holiday in Barbados and a few pints with his m8s at the weekend :-)
