They sent out a 500 page guideline and suggested techniques tome to all offices.

That was in addition to the 2500page business guide and how we approach each of our clients and service level agreements with each of them.

Most companies these days are the same Clare ,the bigger the company the bigger its guidelines on race ,colour ,height, weight ..anything that may be deemed by someone or anyone to be offensive .
Now then ,my opinion is that this type of oppression of free speach is highly offensive to someone like me ( a direct straight talking person).
This country of ours is unbelievable, my god you\'ve only to hear the word minority and those in management /government etc. sit up straight and give their FULL attention .
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

What upsets me most is that we have freedom of speach in this country and we welcome every colour faith and religion into our country but I would not be tolerated in there country and my religous beliefs would definately not be tolerated and this deeply hurts me.My wife who could live side by side with anyone is starting to have second thoughts,I never thought I\'d see they day when she passed comment about recent events and I think alot more people are feeling the same, very sad times.Quite fancy New Zealand as well Steve, similar to this country and the fishing looks canny
        Cheers Alan...

Who was to know that the piece of sc** dressed as a suicide bomber DIDN\'T have his pockets filled full of explosives??? Is dressing as a suicide bomber that different from waving a replica firearm about?

He shouldn\'t have been arrested on the spot, he should have been challenged by armed police and the s**t scared out of him. What would have happened if he\'d been shot by armed police, who would\'ve blamed them??? Not me.

I see he\'s apologised, but that doesn\'t wash with me. He must have thought about what he was doing, to get maximum effect. He got it, he deserves his punishment.

I said excactly that when i saw him on the TV - what will happen if the \"Top Loony\" tells them all to wear this gear on a certain day - utter mayhem - the Clown who was wearing it could very easily have been \" took out \" . It would have happened in other Places i have visited.

just being listening to the news and the cheif of police said they did not make arrested because they were gathering evidence and videos of what went on. he also said if they had gone in heavy handed there would have been pitch riots. that got me thinking. that did not happen when the poll tax demos were going on..... police sraight in and arrests were made........ miners pickets........... police in again more arrests........ even small demos like hunting the police seem to step in and arrest. whats the world comming to eh. ever since i could read i have seen cartoons taking the mick out of the irish, catholics(myself), geordies etc, you dont see us going on demos just because someone is having a laugh at our expence. laugh back at it stand tall and get on with life its to short. hope that makes sence.

                  cheers

It was nice to see our police taking a balanced , fair , and even handed veiw of the protests . Pity they did\'nt do the same during the miners strike .

Thats just it though Dave, they didn\'t. They arrested a lad for distibuting what they thought were offensive cartoons, but it was ok for hundereds to have banners telling us that another 7/7 is on its way, europe, your 9/11 is on its way etc etc. Thats offensive, but nothing was done in case it made things worse. Minorities rule over the majority (AGAIN!)

It wont be long before we have vigilante squads taking the law into thier own hands, because our own laws will not protect us and will do nothing about the present situation for fear of offending someone.
                            Rant Over.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,

So, have I got it right........?

It would\'ve been preferable for the police, in full riot gear, to go into the crowd and try to arrest those carrying the offensive banners - knowing that to do so would only serve to inlame the situation and probably result in a whole sale riot........which would probably lead to further whole salw riots in other UK cities and alienate the entire Muslim population of the country?

Yes, I know they did that during the poll tax riots......that\'s how they became \"riots\".........yes, Iknow that\'s what they did during the miners strike......which lead to demonstarations becoming \"riots\".........yes, I know they waded in during the hunting demos..........

BUT.......do you think there are \"mining fundamentalists\" or \"fox hunting suicide bombers\" who would go on, as a result of their \"riot\" to cause mass devastaion and suffering to those who didn\'t believe in their \"cause\".

Most of those on the demonstrations re. poll tax, mining closures, hunting, etc, were carrying out a peacful demonstration......very similar to those demonstrating last weekend.
Mebbies the police have learned a lesson.........find out WHO the agitators are and deal with them after the event.
