  • SEASCAPE PHOTO EXHIBITION

As we seem to have been talking quite a bit recently about photos, I thought that I\'d bring this to your attention.........

A friend of mine, Stuart Meikle, is holding an exhibition of some of his seascape photographs in January.

He uses a very interesting technique to achieve his very dramatic and moody images.

Here are just 2 of his photographs:-

All the photographs in the exhibition are views from along the South Tyneside coastline.

The exhibition is in the Stairwell Gallery of the Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle and runs for 1 week from Sunday 22nd Jan to Saturday 25th.

Well worth going along to have a look - they are fantastic photographs !

I was looking at some photography on the net a few weeks ago and came accross some of his work on a different site. Just a few pics but enough to impress. Unfortunately I didn\'t put it in my favourites . I thought I recognised the name when you made that post but didn\'t realise he was from our area.

        Well impressed though.

        Jim.

He\'s most definitely from \"our area\", Jim (well mine, anyway...lol)

I work with him and like me, he\'s a Shields lad, born & bred and still living in Shields.

                        Oh.....it\'s not too bad, Mike............

                        His \"lighting system\" is a torch !

His photographs are literally \"painting with light\".

Just a follow on from Harry\'s comment on calenders,Stuarts work would certainly make a nice calender
                          Cheers Alan...

\"......does Stuart show his work outside of the North East.......\"

                            Very possibly, Alan - however......
about 6 or 7 years ago, there was an exhibition of very similar photographs doing the rounds. The exhibition was called \"Out of the Darkness\" and again, featured night shots taken from within the caves along the So Tyneside coastline. Can\'t remember the name of the photographer, but I think he was from up around the Borders area.

The photographs showed the cave interiors illuminated with different coloured lights and were done with VERY long exposures. The view outside the cave showed the trails left by the stars during the long exposures.
