ok then where do we stand with guarantee\'s
if you buy a rod and it snaps after a couple of sessions
some tackle shops say get in touch with the manifacturer
isnt it there job to do that
also can you get your money back because if you buy a rod and it does snap
your not exactly flowing with confidence about using another one

Graham I bought a Century G-5 Super Sport. About the fifth time I used it , it snapped when I was casting. I took it back to the shop, He sent it back for me and would have collected it for me but was busy that day. I offered to pick it up from the factory as it was not far out of my way.

If you buy a rod from a shop In my opinion they should be the one\'s that sort any problems out for you. Personally if I had to do it myself I would NEVER use that shop again. I once bought an item from Temple\'s when Bill and Martin were in there, it was defective and they sorted the problem out for me.

Don\'t expect them to replace the item straight away though as they are not allowed to by the manufacturers. It has to be sent away first to find out if it has been caused by miss use or by a fault.

I bought a 6500 mag elite (sunset orange) from an angling centre in Devon (sure you can work it out from that). As I was loading it with line for the first time it seized. Rang them up and they told me to send it back to the manufacturer - I said no I wanted a refund. They then old me that I wasn\'t entitled to one so I sent them a letter by registered post quoting the 1979 Sales of Goods Act and guess what....got my refund very quickly. Won\'t use them again for anything though after trying to sherk their legal responsibilities!
