A most sobering story, the woman who killed herself by driving into the sea. Terrible. My heart goes out to the 2 anglers who witnessed the event. I can\'t imagine what must have been going through her mind. The poor soul must have been completely demented.

Maybe she didn\'t trust herself to really stop so left it till the last microsecond, If she was serious though she should have tried patches first but then do you put it on the life jacket (before or after inflation) or on you arm, bearing in mind the water will cause a nicotine skin barrier effect.

I stopped smoking coz i did not drive into a sea. I just watched Watership Down & Never Ending Storey (& Bluies Brothers) then it was ok.

Never found the nicotine patches very good in water charlie, the kept coming loose and the fags floated out...

When we used to go diving the \'clique\' used to hate smokers. There was me, bottle on me back, reg in left hand and tab in the right.

As soon as I had scrambled myself back on the boat after the dive I would light a cigarette up, much to my amusement but to the dismay of others, one even tried to tell me I could blow them up as they had oxygen bottles on????????.

Any way, I came across this little water tight tube thingy that allowed me to take two tabs and a ligher on the dive with me and I could then unscrew the top of it and have a tab whilst bobbing about in the water while waiting for the boat to come and collect us. Champion

I once done a night cave dive in Malta where you surfaced in a cave and could remove your reg.
Them BCD\'s have great pockets for holding two cans of lager and with my little water tight tube around my wrist, party on, cigs and booze for me and Lisa.

****s didn\'t see the funny side of it though, just cos they hadn\'t thought of it.

That was the last time we dived with them ****ers.

If anyone wants bottles filled go to aqua north on the coast road cos I have a full air card there, tell them to put it on my card cos I won\'t be going back again.

Most of my most memorable occasions have involved having something in my mouth next to damp things.

No 1. Travelling the long way back to Jo\'burg SA before the famous Garden route begins. Got invited back to some groupies beautiful pad with a short wander through the trees into a beautiful lagoon. Left the herd and tip-toed like a gay man down to the water (snakes and that) Fired up a number and waded swam into the dead centre of this lagoon (About 500m shore to shore) Floated on me back as the sun went down between my feet and a full upside down moon rose exactly behind my head. The water was full of phosporescent(?) thingmebobs that glowed neon greeny blue whenever I stirred it. Quite canny the whole thing. What I\'m really trying to say is smoking\'s great, just expensive and kills you and makes your kids daft.
