Based on Shimano`s best selling big pit/surf legend, this new model features a cold forged aluminium spool, Super Stopper II, Dyna-Balance, three A-RB bearings and one roller bearing. The new Instant Drag enables quick clutch adjustment from free spool to "fight" in less than a couple of turns. Excellent line lay is provided courtesy of two-speed oscillation and Aero Wrap and two spare XT7 spools are supplied as standard. An ideal reel for carp anglers and surf casters alike.

                Shimano Biomaster 8000 XSA Features:

                Weight: 700g
                Bearings: 3 A-RB
                Roller Bearings: 1
                mm/m: 0,40-320/0,45-270/0,50-220
                Ratio: 4,6.1
                Spare Spools: 2

If it's a big pit reel Scotty, it might not like the salt water.

Why don't you go for a penn surfblaster 8000 it has a good retrieve and holds plenty of line plus you get get a spare braid spool

I've got a sb 8000 and find it a very good reel, not sure what your asking if you've got a big pit reel and you say your happy with it but you'l find it will last longer if you rinse it under slightly warm water as cold water doesn't break down the salt then give it a spray over with silicone spray its more expensive than wd40 as its not corrosive to your line, might help you if its not a salt water reel
