  • Internet Connection Problems - HELP

I will understand if this post leads to a barrage of creative replies - only myself to blame but can anyone help? Bought a new computer, (Ive had to connect me old one up to pst this) When I try to connect to the Internet my home phone rings a couple of times, it does the squeaky noises then no connection. I\'ve tried allorts. I get the feeling that I\'ve entered my own number as an ISP one somewhere down the line. I\'m running XP Home edition for now on the new one, with a 56K dial up connection. Can anyone help? I\'ve got a months free help ervice but they aren\'t around till tomorrow. I have every faith in NESA!!

And yes I\'ve tried putting a bananna into the DVD drive, opening the windows, taking the cat\'s hat off etc.

    TIA

    Dead simple Charlie,

Put all the bits back in the big box, Take it back to wonderful CP world and tell the man that you sent your wife out to buy you a new computer, giving her strict instruction on what to get for you and she brought you back this. Tell them that you understand that it was probably all her fault and you understand that they would have tried to tell her that you really needed something else but she obviously wouldn\'t listen and could you please have a MAC !!!!!!!!!!.

Just plug it in and guess what. It just works.

Honestly, and I\'m crap with computers, just ask Mark.

How\'s work going are you still at the college?

you\'ll have one next year - apple is moving to Pentium/Xeon hardware and running the OS on that, so the easy answer may well be just buy a copy of the world\'s gretaes operating system and stick that on your current hardware, no viruses, no spyware, etc etc etc

Cheers Marc I almost bought a Mac, as one of the new machine\'s main roles will be video editor in chief.

Still at the College mate and still don\'t mind getting up of a morning and going in. Mind we\'ve been brat free since late June. The Berghaus gang will be mooching the corridoors from tomorrow.

          So what you telling me,,,,,,

I spent all this money on breathing, reliaible, ultra trendy, georgeous looking titanium, always left on, starts up first time, never crashed, just works machines and I could have just stuck a disk in me old ones.

Bet the blue screen will still look better though
