the reason madrid got owen for only 8 million was that he was out of contract at liverpool in 6 months time when he could of left for free so liverpool had no option but to take the 8 million or wait 6 months and watch him leave for NOTHING ,,2 yrsago owen was valued at 25 million+ and now we get him for 17 million [ canny cheap then ]

just to have a little dig at our poorer cousins doon the road who ALLWAYS WILL LOOK UP TO US FOREVER with a bit envy at our spending and our players we bring in , BUT who was the last english current international they bought or have they ever [ honestly i cant name 1 ? ]

hope the above isnt taking the wrong way

7 million back already from JJ.

We now, i feel have the players to put the ball in the danger zone and the attackers to do the rest, parkers fantastic and will be in England team soon and Emra is going to be good.

I said if we never bought big we would end up in the bottom 6 again this season, i now feel this is the lift the club needs and i dont just mean own, lucay as well as solano will help turn things around and i hope can get us in the top 6...i feel 8th spot finish this year but i hope more.

Jonny, just because a footballer signs a 4 year deal, it doesn\'t mean he\'ll be with you for 4 years. Theres loads of examples of this.

As for having no clauses in his contract, I\'d be very very surprised.

Owens words himself at the press conference \" I hope you all enjoy me playing football at the club for the next four years\"!

Selling Jenas was good business, highly overated and should\'nt even be in the national side,I would have let him go for half that.Nearly as clever as selling Woodgate

No sour grapes from me, just a lot off reading between the lines, and this is from my black and white mates as well.

While Bob the accountant is in charge of SAFC, the biggest fee we\'ll fork out is ten bob and a fat orange.

As good as Owen is though, he\'s not good enough to cover for Boumsongs clangers! Is he Bramble in disguise?
