Just got in from a normal day over the town, club closed headed outside as you do and wait for a taxi in the rain.
Stood there 10mins and was 2 from the front and this lad walks up and without saying anything punches me straight in the face. Now there was a police car parked up as there always is and they must have seen it but never moved, he said \"get out the taxi rank and lets go\" i stood there telling what i thought of him...still no police and there was a few people there now having a go at him as they had seen waht happened, he walked over and swang for me so i landed 3 punches on his face and top of head...police jump out and arrest me and let him go..it was only after about 15 people started having a go at the police saying they had arrested the wrong person that i was let go and asked if i wanted to press charges..i said no but a lift home would be good.

Bottom line they must have seen the first hit from him but waited till i hit back before getting out. All ended well but got a bust lip lol...cupa and bed i think for me.

Richy, that is probably the same thing that happened to the last person that did not press charges.
Why not with 15 witnesses, could have stopped another person copping one next week.

So much for Northumbria Police clamping down on Anti Social Behavior,they could deny seeing him assault you but when it kicked off again they obviously had to do something,must have been disturbing there bait time or Alan Robson\'s Night owls

Well its over, i go tot he town at least twice a week and this is only the thrd time in 6 years i have had bother so its not that bad. I only got a bust lip and my hands cut as i caught his teeth but its fine.

I was told its a waste of time making a assult claim, as it would just drg out, he would just about get away with it and i would also get a warning for \"hitting him more times than i needed to\"

The above \" \" was what one officer told me lol followed up with \"we had the situation in hand\" balls but never mind back to fishing chat me thinks

Aye Richy your probably right mate. Pity some of the Police don\'t enjoy their jobs like you enjoy your fishing mate, they would have been straight over the first time.

Worked in a rough pub in Newcastle when I was younger ,also drank in the town since I was a bairn lol ,had and seen loads of bother and been involved with a few brushes with the law Richy in my opinion you\'re best to not involve them if you can , things can turn out strangley ( not the way they should ) .
I actually applied for the force a good few years ago now and I\'m bloody glad I got another job first ,they\'ve got their hands too full these days .
ANYWAY ...you\'ve got the CCTV evidence on your side these days mate .

Well since i seen you last on the boat we have only made it out 2 days lol its a shocking year. Had a walk down the piers before and the rain water has pushed the mackerel and that off shore along with the big sea..so i got 2 weeks off and i cant fish going mad already

Wont be out for ages now, sea state has killed this weekend and Dave is working from Sunday night onwards and the pier wont fish with all the rain and NE winds we have had so am stuck lol, might try some bait fishing from Hendon prom.
