This bloke should think on that if it wasn\'t for the Brits, he and his countrymen would be eating frankfurters and sauerkraut

Still, better than a diet of frogs cocks and slugs. I was once in the main post office in Strassburg and held the door open for a little old lady. She insisted that I close the door and opened it herself. Then she attacked me with a barrage of abuse I couldn\'t understand. Summed the french up for me, and she was old enough to \'remember\' !
    Regards, Graham

Not something which is reserved for Continental old ladys, Graham......

A good few years ago, I was coming home on the bus from work one night. I got on at the town centre terminus and all of the seats became taken within only a couple of stops. You can imagine the scene...packed bus -- people standing in the aisle - wet, miserable night.

An old lady carrying a couple of heavy looking shopping bags got on the bus. As I was sitting near the front of the bus, I stoo dup and offered her my seat.......WRONG MOVE !!
I became the victim of all the anti-feminist and ageist abuse you can imagine........she looked so sweet, too - just like my granny.

This was infront of a packed bus, with everybody staring....I just sat down again. As more people got on the bus, I was getting dirty looks from them because I was sitting down and there was a sweet looking little old lady with 2 heavy shopping bags standing at the side of my seat.......you just can\'t win, sometimes.....lol

If it wasn\'t for Northerners how would he commute on hid trains? What about the development of electricity at Cragside....GRRRR!

Davy, I dont like the french either, but I have to agree with TC. It is time to move on.
Yes we did a lot for the French during thr war, but if it was,nt for the resistance a lot of brits would,nt have made it back home. Maybe one of my relatives or one of yours.

if you replaced \'french\' for \'black\' in this thread my guess is it would of been deleted.

Derek on Big Brother seems to forget that the PM is from the Backwards north, and that his party still can\'t get rid of him.

                          PHP Code:
Yes we did a lot for the French during thr warbut if it was,nt for the resistance a lot of brits wouldn\'t have made it back home. Maybe one of my relatives or one of yours.
Very true, doesn\'t mean I have to like the horrible buggers though. Anyway, we\'ve had the last laugh. No doubt Chirac will be over for the opening ceremony - that\'ll be good. I hope the chef that cooks for him feels the need to clear his throat as he\'s making his food

Davy, my post actually started with \" i dont like the french either\". Nobody said we had to like them. As you said we had the last laugh. Although I dread to think how much taxes are going to go up, to pay for it all.
