    flare set off on river tyne next to royal quays?

    going south on A19 yesterday and turned off for howdon and at about 2-3pm im sure there was a flare set off next to royal quays. being on a motorbike though i only caught a glimpse because it was wet and i had to keep an eye on the road. did anything happen over that way ?
