Shearer and McCarthy had a good discussion about Tiote sending off. Not wanting to seem biased but not a single mention of Ameobi getting a kick in the chest.

    Balanced?

Showed passion as he loves the derby game but a tactical sub that needed to be done, i said last season if we could get 15m+ for Tiote i would sell him, i dont rate him and never rated him that much he a work horse thats it.

Do feel the kick in the chest was as bad as the sending off but thats football end of the day its 1-1 so move on...both teams playing crap this season both teams based on first 7-8 games will finish mid rable...MOVE ON

The difference is I wouldn't class Tiote in the same thug level as Cattermole...he's right up there in the Bowyer/ Barton level if you ask me.

From a Toon perspective I think we need a scrapper in the midfield and Tiote is in that mould

cattermole COULD have been a decent player, but he's a numpty and a bottler. Tiote is top notch, but needs to sort his head out, bowyer was once called a less psychotic david batty...class

wallsendo is right, we need a tiote type player in the middle,

the smb's need a new squad and new fans.

Black and white fans, and red and white fans, will always find reasons to slag
each other off. That's just the nature of the beast.Truth be told, the North East
in general, has the loudest, most ardent and loyal supporters in the country, but
the clubs themselves, will never match their aspirations. You have four or five
clubs, which will always be challenging for the various honours available, they
have the wealthiest owners and fans, and are generally in fashionable areas.
Even if any of the NE clubs managed to produce a top class team, the likelihood
is that the best players would move on,for the money and/or location, and
you have to be philosophical about it,they want the big cities, and the bright
lights, not the nice beaches and the countryside...even the Romans did'nt
                    like hanging around here.

"the north east has the most ardent & loyal fans" ??? That's not strictly correct is it? You can say that about Newcastle, we have the highest capacity and attendance of any N.E team every home game.

Boro and the unwashed mackems never fill their stadium, it's embarrassing, If i remember rightly Nial quinn even had to make a public appeal for the mackem "fans" to stop watching the home games on dodgy satalite TV and go to the stadium instead!!! ha ha, very loyal indeed.........

I know, I know, but I thought it would be polite to point out the inaccuracies in the statement Keith...

To be brutally honest I'm still a tad disappointed that a) the stadium wasn't full, b)the home fans made hardly any noise, and c) we couldn't beat a very poor 5under1and team, even though we only had 10 men.

Of course I was at the game, There was hardly any atmosphere at all, even the police outside said all they could here were the away fans, be realistic, it wasn't a great game, we aren't a great side but we are better than you in every department. There was empty seats scattered around, I saw them, not thousands , but they were there for all too see.

As for Gazza? he was the greatest English footballer of this and many other generations, he just happened to be as daft as a brush and liked a drink!
