The rules preventing members without 40 posts being active in the trade section were introduced so anyone buying or selling in there would be known and hopefully trusted. If sellers choose to do deals via private messages this limited level of protection doesn't apply.

Nearly pm'd you for those rods but decided I really don't need more than 9 boat rods.

To be honest keith i think 40 posts is nowt mate it should be higher maybees 100. But thats just my opinion before anyone gets on my case

I know what you mean, there are a few members that use this site purely to sell gear, they have no intention of joining in on the forums.

The trade section is not easy to moderate, there's sometimes grey areas when stuff that could be fishing related is posted for sale. I upset Mr Charlton the other week when I removed his caravan for sale thread.
