aye mate was very sad to hear it today
grew up listening to him on the beeb! seemed like no new year was complete without the lakeside! wasnt the same when he left!!
read his book ''bellies and bullseyes'' a while ago and what a great read
espescialy when he was at st james with jocky for a home game just after jocky won the title and word got around and by half time the whole place was singing ''theres only one jocky wilson''
sid will be up there now prizing jocky off god for cheating at darts!!!

aye, bad news. To me he was the voice of darts, infact his commentary was more entertaining than some of the chucking IMO.

Regarding jocky someone told me he lived in a one of them bungalows off of Kings Road North in Wallsend, not far away from the Rising Sun boozer. Anyone know if that was true?

Cheers for that reply mate, always wondered like. I also wonder if he ever got in the rising sun itself and played darts, I used to sneak in for a pint many years ago when I worked a late shift at Angus's, just waiting for the chinkies like but I never saw the guy in there.
