The thing is not to panic with a weever fish sting, there has only been one recorded death in the uk and that was in 1933 and was multiple stings and the victim possibly had underlying health problems.
Panic makes the sting worse, immerse the limb in as hot water as the victim can take (without scalding) and this should relieve the pain.
Then calmly take him/her to A&E
It is a very painful sting and pain can last up to 2 weeks, its always worth getting checked out incase one of the spines are still left in as these can cause infection - hope this helpsJust moved to Lynemouth from Cumbria, now retired.
