Does not matter which car you look at ,they will always have a problem somewhere, rover head gaskets, ford diesel fuel pumps, peugot 206 back axles could go on and on,
I have bought and sold many cars
have got a citroen c5 2.0 diesel now big comf car plenty of room ,big boot for fishing ,good mph,and when i bought it the guy had spent £3500 maintance taxed and moted it for a year, just before he died. payed £800 for it ran it for about 6 month now no problems,
so there are some good cars out there and some rubbish cars as well ,just do as much home work as you can,and dont rush into it
just got a 1.4 diesel astra for my mate 56 plate £3000 and he loves it great milage
also got a 58 astra diesel 1.9 for his daughter £4800 a nice car
the best cars to buy are ones you can run for a year trouble free sell them and make a profit

nowt like an opinions thread on cars to divide the masses!

assume all cars are gonna cost you unexpected money and you'll not be disappointed

personally I'd sooner have root canal work than own another ford. had several peugeots 406's and 306's all have done what they said on the tine and IMHO I think pug's have some of the best deisel engines - 370,000 miles on the first 406 we had brakes pads, tyres, an exhaust, a clutch (at 295,000) and oil changes was all it cost me. did over 200k in second hand 306 before selling it on and got another 306 recently as a mile muncher - 2.0Hdi, getting 50plus to the gallon, V reg, 500 quid with 12months mot and 6months tax. will run it into the ground over the next 2 or 3 years, spend nowt on it and still get 200 quid or more from the scrap man at then end
ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

      Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Guy at work got a one when they first came out so must be 10 year old now and he's never had any problems with it so happy motoring.

With that fuel economy yer could just about get to eyemouth and back on 2 gallon

                Good choice Tony.

I've got 1.4tdci zetec for my driving school car. Has only let me down once in the 4yrs i've had it, just recently a front spring went (£200 to get both front ones replaced, ouch). Done 120k and still on original clutch, and average 55ish mpg which is pretty good with it being learners thats driving. If I'm driving it and doing it carefully I can get around 68mpg. Keep giving it a drink of oil if you're putting the miles on and regular service.
