    rspca

I've always had a huge amount of respect for the RSPCA, but this really is beyond the pale.Even if they think they can justify their actions,by stating
the money raised will be spent on animals, they have broken the trust of a lovely old gentleman, who thought his little sanctuary was safe in their hands.
A lot of people, often older ones, have a great fondness for this organisation.
They see a kind and caring empathetic group who would care for their faithful companions,if they themselves passed away before them. They often feel they have an intimacy, built on shared values. How many folk i wonder, will have had their beliefs shattered by this revelation? I think this is a short term gain for this organisation, and in the long term they will suffer for it.

Well i love animals especially dogs and i give donations every now and then and i often wonder where the money goes to as i am sure its not spent on looking after any animal i bet most of the money is pocketed in their own pockets but its supposed to be a trust worthy trust but all they want us to do is give-give-give and were to soft to say no because you feel so sorry for that trust.its a disgrace what they have done with the old mans cash

                Respect for the RSPCA!

I lost all of my respect for the RSPCA when they asked me in a busy shopping centre for a donation. I said I would after they had answered a question adequately.
I asked what they were doing to stop the slaughtering of animals by halal means in the UK, I explained that in my opinion we slaughtered animals for human consumption by humane methods which the RSPCA approved and not by slicing their throats and letting them bleed to death. Halal means of killing animals was not in our culture and therefore a breach of animal rights in this country.
They had no answer for this other than a shrug of the shoulders. I lost my respect for them then. A politically correct protection agency! They didn't get a donation either.

Is it humane to drag a fish out of the water by sticking a hook in it's mouth (which we all do).
We slaughter animals by exactly the same method, only we electrocute them first, which is also an acceptable method in Halal slaughter. I notice you do not condem the Jewish method of slaughter which does not allow the stunning of an animal prior to death?. The majority of animals slaughtered in this country take place in licensed abbatoirs where rigorous standards are maintained regarding the welfare of the animals.

Lossafish, I am at a loss as to how you want me to answer but here goes:

If you ask a fish if it would rather be reeled in quickly with a hook in it's mouth then despatched or dragged around in a net for four hours being crushed and eventually drowning, I know what the fish would chose.
Regarding the Jewish methods of slaughtering, I am not up on the practices but what's your stand on them?
Halal slaughter is not in this countries history or culture and should not be allowed in my opinion and mine only, I am not trying to sway anyone else, the topic came up on a here. If it is not a practice of this country how can it be allowed/acceptable?
I fully agree that the majority of animals in this country for used for human consumption are slaughtered in the correct way using humane killers, shocks etc.

                        Graham.

                          dont like the rspca
few year ago i was walking across blyth beach with my wife and my two dogs
and the youngest had a habit of pulling and going for other dogs so we got one of those halti head leed things! so where doing abit of training!
halfway across we stopped little pull on the halti to stop the dog and said 'SIT'
and 'tapped' the dog on the bum to sit down
next thing theres this woman striding over towards me screaming at me saying im mistreating my dog
she wanted my name adress the the lot and was ringing the police aswell as we spoke she even said i was the eqivalent of a 'child abuser' which i nearly thumped her for saying that and im a pussy cat! turns out she was a rspca warden all high and mighty too she was
oh and did i mention my wife was nearly 7month pregnant at the time aswell which didnt bother the warden at all that my pregnant wife was in tears at this
i can honestly say i have never and never will abuse a animal and to be acused by a pompus do gooder thats smiles for the camera while saving a kitten is all wrong especially when the real animal abusers stay safe RANT OVER
