watever it is, it`s not in the wild though, is it, i could be rong, but that looks like the top of a jess on the leg opposite the ring leg. ? a was thinking lannier falcon, but harris is better. it`s still a cracker, av got a m8 in cramlington who breeds/fly`s many different kinds.

                      Sparrowhawk

Since the wife got her bird feeder station we get one on a regular basis sitting in the honeysuckle waiting for an un-suspecting meal. Never have a camera ready to capture that momemnt and when its sat still in the honeysuckle its hard to spot let alone get it in the view finder.

We get a few around our way....Beautiful raptors they are.

Had one fly into our front bedroom window about 7 years ago chasing spuggys...sadly when the RSPCA came they took it to the local vets to be put down as it had broken its wing. 1-0 to the spuggies that day.

Only last year a collared dove flew past our sitting room window.....Then....POOFFFF....it was raining feathers for about 5 minutes afterwards....Really surreal.

Got quite a few buzzards up here too...Often soaring on the thermals between Alnwick and Longhoughton looking for carrion...Sometimes you can see up to 5 or 6 soaring like vultures on some wild west film!
"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

Had them in the garden twice and never had the camera handy. Watch out for some blue tit photos; had a box up 5 years and they're finally nesting. Going to set the camera up on the tripod when it's decent and use a remote trigger to see if I can get any decent shots.

                            Cracking close up Sless
