you can try for an apprenticeship,not sure how but a mate of mine has just got one,he has to go to whitby for a year,not sure after that

not hard to find a a job as a deckhand. You'll need your 4 basic tickets before you can even set foot on a commercial boat though - fire fighting, first aid, sea safety and sea survivalʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

I know you love your boat fishing Scotty, but working on a boat for long hours in all conditions is hugely different from dangling a rod over the side now and then. Why not call down the fish quay and have a chat with the commercial lads for some advice
