Boat are kayak ?

i wouldn't dive in, so to speak,

it can be a very expensive hobby, i've just had the main and aux outboard serviced with new inpellers etc £320 and just got yacht club membership yearly renewals £270 ish

and that's just the "got to do's" the list goes on.....

but on the brighter side it's worth every penny....fish please...

Still cost you a fee to launch her, pay for a year ticket or a day pass at some area's..Sunderland marina does it £25 a day or something like that.

If your set on a boat start saving now, its great fun but endless costs.

Lad in the boat yard last week summed it up perfect when i was talking with him......................If you love fishing buy a boat, if you hate someone buy them a boat.

I love boating, live for it infact but in a year i will spend almost 2k on using the boat....turn that into charter trips and you could not fish that many trips in a year...for me its about the owning and being able to fish when i want but i would go back to charter boats from the Tyne in a heart beat if or i should say when the money runs out.

Boats really are money pits, so you would need to budget a lot in addition to the cost of the boat for all the extra gear and upkeep you need. Fuel efficiency is horrific compared with a car’s or scooter’s mpg. No one buys a boat because it makes financial sense though.

Used by an experienced paddler, kayaks are much safer than most of our fishing boats and are not restricted to use in flat calm seas. You would still need a lot of extra kit beyond just the kayak, budget for paddles, VHF radio, possible a fishfinder/GPS, wet or drysuit, buoyancy aid, etc. Yaks are easier than boats to transport and store too.

Once agane lads a think all be getting a kayak fully kitted out with rido fish finder paddles wet soot the full works for around 6-700 that will do me ;D you's are ryt about the boat trips a can just pay for than ;D hoping to be out on 8th hope wetha good ;(

Good luck for your trip out on 8th Scotty, it's beginning to look a little better for Sunday although still a bit iffy. Hope you catch more than your early in the year trip.

Aye it's all about the waiting ....... we've been (as we do each year) wating for the spring ... and of course the weekend as Mon-Fri is all about making the dosh to pay for the weekend trips .......

but it's here now, time has come .... not in the biggest catch zone (time wise) yet but certainly up with a good chance of decent fish ... if the wind ever goes west ...
