  • Free AntiSpyware from Microsoft

You\'ll be surprised at the amount of rubbish that this bit of software can clean off your PC. It found 44 bits on my machine and I thought that the two antispyware programmes I already had on were doing the business.

    In Microsoft\'s own words:

\"Spyware is a general term used for software that performs certain behaviors such as advertising, collecting personal information, or changing the configuration of your computer, generally without appropriately obtaining your consent\".

    Here\'s the link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

This is a Beta (test) version but seems to work just fine

there\'s 3 things that you don\'t see very often in the same sentence: free, anti-spyware and microsoft
ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

    Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

I must admit that I was surprised as well when I saw this free MS software. Maybe they\'ve responded to real life where loads of free spyware catching software\'s available from other sources. Needless to say there\'s probably a price to pay longterm and I suspect that Mark\'s probably right about Microsofts\' own spyware being dumped on your machine! Having said this I\'m still impressed with it\'s ability to catch things that the others don\'t.
Paula, you are right about the other two products I\'ve used, they are indeed Adaware and Spybot (both free to download as well). Used in combination with the MS product they seem to catch most things, although I am thinking about getting rid of Spybot.
What I\'m really looking forward to is the day when Norton get their act together and Internet Security can catch spyware as well!!!

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work.
