been give a cannon 35mm camera with 2 spare lenses, a hellios flash and a couple of other small items and user manuels
so was wondering are thes still being used or is it obselete
so was wonder if it still usable where would be best place to sell it on
Sadly not worth very much these days - if you can get away with working with film then you'll get much more reward from using them than you will from selling. I can't quite make out the model (looks like may be an AE1?) and the lenses look like a standard 50 on the camera, maybe a 100 or 135 fixed and a 70-210 zoom?
I've used Canon gear professionally for over 30 years now (although pretty much finished with the photography these days) and it's good stuff, however the lenses you've got aren't fast (i.e. large aperture) and the slower ones only fetch the lowest prices, likewise the camera isn't a professional model (and they don't even fetch much of a price these days) - I doubt all together they'd be worth much more than three figures (and that's retail), the flash pretty worthless & the accessories can be had for a pound or two.
If you'd like to get them better appraised I'd suggest taking them in to Paul at Classic Cameras in Old Eldon Square (he'll also have Alan, who does all repairs, check them over to make sure everything's working - that's if he's interested). Here's a link to their website:
