John, I got the Fuji Finepix S7000 in the end - Dixons were selling them off at £120 off - down to £229.. I think they may have made a cock up on the price though because barely a week later they\'re not listing them at all on their site (haven\'t checked the shops) and no-where online has them for sub £300.

Pretty good camera though, I must have capped off over 300 shots on Saturday when we were out and about and the spare set of batteries never left my pocket.
