  • Northumberland Anglers - can you help?

    Hi there,

I work for the Environment Agency. I was wondering if you can help us catch a prolific fly-tipper on the Northumberland coast?

Our waste crime officers are looking for information about a series of fly-tipping incidents (nearly 30 so far) in the area between Newbiggin by the Sea and Druridge Bay since October 2011.

We have been investigating the incidents and suspect that it is an individual doing the fly-tipping, but we need more evidence to find the person responsible.

We are looking for information about anyone acting suspiciously in the area. I was wondering if you can keep an eye out for fly-tippers if you are fishing there?

The fly-tipping is usually around 1 to 2 tonnes of household waste and the offender would need a large van or low loader to transport the waste.

If you have any information about the fly-tipping incidents please report it by either calling our 24 hour hotline 0800 80 70 60 or by calling crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    Thanks,

    Dominic.

    welcome to Nesa Dominic.

Hope you nail the bugger - one of my pet hates is fly tipping, hope someone spots something that can help you track em down and more importantly convict them

Have you thought about contacting the Coastguard as well mate, as they often do patrols and familiarity training and may catch this person in the act.
I would speak to Amble and Newbiggin sectors.

If you have any problem with contacting them....PM me and I will give you the number for the Station Officer at Amble

Thanks for suggesting this, and to tonyfromalnwick for mentioning it at the SAC. I'll try to make contact with the coastguard and set up a way of them feeding the info to us if they see anything that can help us track the offender down.
