  • NESA CALENDAR FOR 2006

Many of you, I know, have seen the idea I posted of having a NESA calendar for next year. As it was wrapped up in a topic title which suggested nothing about the calendar, I thought I\'d give it a bit more prominence..........

What I need is some of ya best pix to include in the calendar.
They\'ll need to represent a particular month.....so something appropriate, please.

You can send them to the e-mail address at the bottom of my posts.

This is the sort of thing I\'ve been thinking about.......

    Front cover

The box over on the left will contain the dates and the space under the pic could have a bit of info about the location.

Not makin\' any promises, but I\'ll see what can be done about getting the finished thing printed up properly.

I\'ve had several photos sent to me........but nowhere near enough.......BUT......no rush......If I AM able to get the final version printed into proper calendars, I won\'t be sending it off for printing until around November.

What I\'d like YOU to do, is to send me pix to represent the CURRENT month (March at the minute). At the end of the month, I\'ll post all the pix I\'ve had submitted for the month. YOU can then decide which should be the photo to represent that month.

To be able to do this properly, I need to have several pix submitted from different people......that doesn\'t mean you can\'t send me more than 1 photo.......the more the merrier....lol (and the greater choice to be had).

Here are the details of the dimensions you\'ll need to set the pix at.....

If you\'re SCANNING a PRINT to send me, then these are the best workable dimensions.......

A 6\" X 4\" print scanned at 300dpi will give you an image of around 6Mb. Save the image as a \"high quality\" jpg. This should give you an file of around 2 or 2.5Mb. Attach the the jpg your e-mail and send it to me.

If you\'re sending photos from a DIGITAL camera.......
Shoot the photo as near to 300dpi as your camera will allow (some only go to 230dpi.....but that\'s enough).
Once you\'ve got your photo downloaded to your computer, resize the image to roughly the same as the dimensions mentioned above for scanned prints. That should give you the same (or near enough) size image as mentioned above (i.e. around 6Mb). Again, save it as a \"high quality\" jpg which should give the image a file size of around 2 or 2.5Mb.....send the jpg to me.

    NOTE:

6\"X4\" equates to around the following values

    Width 15cm
    Height 10cm

    OR

    Width 1740 pixels
    Height 1180 pixels

Anything much smaller than the above dimensions will not be of sufficient quality to be printed.

So........get out there and get snappin\'

    NOTE:
    1. If you\'ve already got a very good photo, which you think could represent a particular month, then send it to me (several of you have already done this)......the pix don\'t necessarily have to be from this year (although that would be preferred)

    2. The photos MUST be your OWN work......or, you MUST have the permission of the person who took the photo for it to be included. If you\'re submitting photos which YOU haven\'t taken yourself, then I\'ll need the name (and means of contacing) the person who\'s work it is.

            Sarky Sod :P ......lol

Seems to be a problem with the .cibs photo upload facility.

Photos uploaded to the Board using it aren\'t being displayed and I\'m getting a report saying \"could not connect to server\" when I try to connect to it.

OK a serious piccy for you. The headland in the background is Dunnet Head (which holds the UK record for Porbeagle shark at 507lb taken in 1993)
Taken at approximately 5am in July last year.
