  • Anglers Star Signs

Found this today and wondered if anybody relates to their star sign?

    Aries The statue
Stands motionless next to his rod, never leaving its side for a second. Gale force winds and torrential rain may batter him be he does not flinch. Has secret desire to work as guard outside Buckingham palace. Either that or five layers of clothing make it impossible to move.

    Taurus The Pacer
Props his rod in a rest and paces up and down impatiently. Likes to leave rod unattended and walk along pier chatting to other anglers. Usually provides a laugh when his line catches a passing boat and his rod disappears over the edge.

    Gemini The sitter
Likes to bring a deckchair with him, failing that will make do with tackle box. Hates geting up once comfortable and grumbles he\'s just sat down when he gets a bite. Likes to remember the good old days when huge double figure fish were ten a penny.

    Cancer The car sitter
Only ever fishes harbours or places where he can park next to the water. Casts out then retreats to the warmth and comfort of his vehicle. Knows wing mirrors make good rod rests. Easily spotted on the road due to excessive number of air fresheners to mask fishy smell.

    Leo The wader
Happiest when waist deep in the surf. Likes to meet his quarry on equal terms but will probably get eaten by a shark. This star sign insists on dragging his children into the freezing cold sea for a paddle every time they visit the beach.

    Virgo The sunbather
Can be found on any sandy beach during those hot summer days. Props his rod in a rest and lies down to get a suntan. Normally attaches a bell to his rod to warn of bites. Please wake him up and tell him that tide has gone out and he\'s been fishing on dry land for the past hour when necessary.

    Libra The Robinson Crusoe wannabee
Found perched on an exposed piece of rock out at sea, onlookers ponder how he got there and how he\'ll get back. Is well known to the local lifeguards and probably has his own seat on the lifeboat. Usually a local that claims he knows the sea like the back of his hand.

    Scorpio The picnicer

Always brings a tent or large fishing umbrella and his wife and kids. Has enough food and drink to feed the third world but only enough bait for an hour, wonders if cod like fishstick sandwiches. Kids bug him to let them check the bait every 30 seconds. Wife immediately turns vegetarian the minute she learns fish don\'t come ready battered and deep frozen in the real world.

    Sagittarius The rover
Never stays in the same place for more than a few casts, forever seeking out the fish trying each gulley and every hole. Always carries telescopic rod in his car with a few favourite lures for when the urge to roam takes him. Sadly can never remember where he\'s parked his car

    Capricorn The dangler
Sits on the very edge of piers with his legs dangling over the side, never standing up not even to cast. The 30 foot drop holds no fear for this star sign, either he pulls the fish out or he gets pulled in. Place your bets gentlemen.

    Aquarius The lover
Thinks it\'s a good idea to introduce his girlfriend to the joys of fishing the cold winter nights. Often found bang in the middle of nowhere or takes his rod and women to local beautyspot. If you listen carefully you may hear him say those three little words \"Got a bite\".

    Pisces The organiser
Spends his time fishing organising his tackle box. Likes everything to be in its correct place and gets annoyed when he finds a size 4/0 hook in the size 6/0 compartment. Is the only one who keeps his lead weights nice and shiney

I\'m a Gemini, and although it\'s sad to say, it does remind me of me. I\'m quite happy to let whitings knock away if I\'m having me coffee (circle hooks are my excuse for not jumping up and striking!)
